Ivano-Frankivsk National Medical University
Ivano-Frankivsk National Medical University (IFNMU) is an institute of higher medical education in Ivano-Frankivsk, Ukraine. It was founded in the year 1945. The university is one of the few Medical Universities in Ukraine to be designated as a "National Medical University" by the government of Ukraine. The University has trained more than 17 thousand students since its establishment.
Ivano-Frankivsk National Medical University provides continuity of higher medical education: Junior Specialist – a Bachelor – a Medical Specialist – a Master – a postgraduate.
It has trained 5000 international students (as per the data from April 2011) from over 40 countries.
Students of IFNMU are eligible to apply for certification and license in over 150 countries of the world including USA, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, India, Singapore, New Zealand, Germany, France, Italy, Russia, Finland, Denmark, Sweden, Poland, UAE, Saudi Arabia, etc.
Students from India are eligible to sit for the National Board of Examination (NBE) and to register with the Medical Council of India (MCI) to practice in their home country.
Similarly, students /graduates of Ivano-Frankivsk National Medical University are eligible to sit for licensure & certification examinations of many other countries such as Australia, Canada, New Zealand, UAE, Singapore, etc.
All students & graduates should educate themselves on the license policies of their respective home countries and countries where they propose to practice and prepare accordingly – in regards to education, documentation, attestation, immigration, subject competency exam, language competency examination, residency and work permit laws.
IFNMU campus occupies a great area, where student hostel, sports department, canteen and entertainment centers are located in close proximity of the University
Ivano-Frankivsk is a historic city located in Western Ukraine. As is the case with most of Ukraine, the climate is moderate continental with warm summers and fairly cold winters. The population of the city is approximately 230,929. The city is known for its rich heritage of theatres, cinemas, architecture, city parks, festivals, and nightlife.
The university is situated in Ivano-Frankivsk in the northwest of Ukraine and is the leading higher education establishment in the region. It is conferred with the highest accreditation level, IVth level (highest in Ukraine) by the State Accreditation Committee of Ukraine.
All the educational programs of the University are approved by the Ministry of Education & Science of Ukraine.

Future doctors are trained by highly qualified specialists. Among them are 19 academicians, 74 professors and doctors of science (Dsci) and 324 candidates of science (Ph.D.). Research work is carried out in laboratories equipped with modern equipment and technologies such as Electronic Microscope, Radionuclide, Ecological Medicine, Genetics, Immunology, etc.
