Bogomolets National Medical University (NMU)

It’s named after the great Ukrainian patho-physiologist Alexander A. Bogomolets.
Situated in the heart of the capital city of Ukraine i.e Kyiv, which is also one of the largest cities of Ukraine, the university is approximately 10 km away from the international airport.
NMU provides medical training for over 10,000 students, including about 1,300 foreigners from 56 countries. The university employs about 1,200 teaching staff.This university is known for its high standard of education and rigorous assessment policies which ensures the optimum standard of education and training. It has the highest level of accreditation by the Ministry of Health and Education i.e. level IV and has been training students for over 150 years. Many of the graduates who have completed their studies are working in their respective countries as a licensed doctor
The university has a total of 7 hostels. The campus consists of very big complex structured buildings with 17 floors and 2 wings for national and international students. Students are offered a place in the hostel on an individual contract basis. 2-3 Students share a hostel room. Each hostel room in fully furnished with most basic amenities like a bed, wardrobe, study table, chair, bookshelf, mattress, etc.

There are many museums, monuments, theatres, cinemas, libraries and places for students in Kyiv to explore, observe, research and learn. The lecturers, doctors and professors are highly qualified. The university employs 1,300+ scientists and teachers; among which 137 are professors, 188 associate professors, 341 assistant professors and 719 lecturers. Apart from them, over 200 academicians and corresponding members of the Higher Education Board of Ukraine, Laureates of State Prize of Ukraine, Honorary Readers and professor emeritus adorn the academic positions of this university. The student’s body of the medical school alone is over 13,000 students strong consisting of doctors, interns, masters, residents, post-graduates and pupil studying medicine, both from Ukraine and all the corners of the world.
The degree awarded to medical students at the end of their 6 years of training is M.D (Doctor of Medicine, in accordance with the WHO and Avicenna Directory) and it makes them eligible to practice in any country in the world after appearing and successfully passing their respective medical licensing examinations.
